Pretty in pastel! The Duchess of Edinburgh opts for Victoria Beckham as she wows in a springy blue suit during a visit to Brussels

The Duchess of Edinburgh was beautiful in blue as she undertook a visit to Belgium for a whirlwind trip this week. Sophie opted for a trendy pastel trouser suit from designer favourite Victoria Beckham for the occasion, pairing the look with a simple floral shirt. The mother-of-two swept her blonde hair into a low-slung ponytail, and added a touch of glamour with a set of delicate jewellery.

During her visit to Brussels, Sophie attended the European Parliament in Brussels, before addressing senior European and international decision-makers and representatives from the tech sector at an event hosted by the European Parliament Intergroup on Children’s Rights.

Sophie was accompanied by Jess Phillips, the Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Girls and Women, at the event in Brussels. During the visit, the Duchess and Jess Phillips highlighted the urgent need to tackle child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Standing in her role as patron of the NSPCC and Plan International UK, she said, ‘The Global Child Safety Institute…estimates that over 300 million children have been affected by online child sexual exploitation and abuse in the last year.

‘I am going to say that again–300 million children.’

She went on to say that while child sexual exploitation also happens offline, the online world remains largely unregulated, arguing that greater care should be taken to protect children.
