Queen Camilla hosts Sarah Lancashire, Victoria Beckham and other stars at the Palace
Queen Camilla hosted a star-studded guest list at Buckingham Palace this afternoon in her role as President of the organisation WOW (Women of the World) Festival. Actresses Sarah Lancashire, Ruth Jones, Ruby Wax, barrister Cherie Blair and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham were just some of the famous women invited to mark 15 years since the first WOW Festival.
The guest list was specially chosen to celebrate women leading their fields from the arts to education and business, alongside support as staff of WOW. During the reception, the Queen spent time chatting with guests before delivering a speech to mark the occasion. She focused her speech on the power of women who don’t say no.
WOW is a global movement and festival promoting gender equality and celebrating women, girls and non-binary people, run by UK charity The WOW Foundation.
To date, WOW has worked with 33 partners across the globe to reach over five million people in 71 different locations including Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Finland, Greece, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Somaliland, the UK and the USA.
Camilla has supported WOW since its launch in 2010, and as President since 2015, attending The WOW Festival in London and events around the world.
